This is an invitation-only event delivered in partnership with Ulster University.
Sixth form students from across Belfast will gather at Ulster University, Belfast campus to explore the power of songwriting to convey personal and community experiences, and connect people from different backgrounds through a shared passion for music.
Facilitated by two-time Ivor Novello award-winning songwriter Iain Archer (Hold Back The River with James Bay; Final Straw with Snow Patrol), the event will offer participants opportunities to develop their own writing skills, exchange ideas with peers in a safe space and collaborate with Iain on an original work to be premiered at the 4 Corners Festival.
Originally from Bangor, and a graduate of Ulster University, Iain will guide the students through an examination of perspectives on home that will inform their collaborative work.
Belfast-based sixth-form pupils who are interested in this event should contact the Festival via their school. Please note that there are a limited number of places per school.
