Too often, conversations about disability in church life stop at physical access. But real inclusion goes deeper – it’s about belonging, dignity, and recognising the spiritual gifts disabled people bring to the life of the church.
In this interactive workshop, participants will explore personal stories of disability and faith, learn practical ways to engage respectfully with disabled people, and discover God’s heart for inclusion. Through demonstrations, group activities, and reflections from both hearing and Deaf contributors (including British Sign Language insights), attendees will experience firsthand what daily life with disability can be like.
Together, we’ll examine how church culture often creates barriers, explore a theology of disability, and discuss practical steps toward genuine inclusion. Whether you’re a church leader, volunteer, or simply want to learn, this workshop offers tools to make your faith community a place where disabled people can flourish in worship, discipleship, and leadership.
