Reflections On 4 Corners 2022: Common Ground, Common Good

Much has happened in the world in the month since we celebrated what Pope Francis referred to as the ‘fiesta’ of 4 Corners 2022.

As we reflect on the joy we experienced in gathering together in person again, we are conscious of the fear and distress now experienced by many who have been separated from family, friends and their homeland.

Yet in these dark times, as we look back over the festival events of February, there is hope to be found in the reflections on faith, community and peace-building shared with us by so many across the festival. We are reminded by Pope Francis that when we come together, the greatness of God’s heart shows forth and by Archbishop Justin Welby that, ‘If God can come to us, we can always turn to Him. He can bring peace out of violence. He offers light amid the darkness.’

We are grateful to all who joined us for the 2022 festival, both in-person and online. We hope you will continue to be encouraged by the explorations of Common Ground and Common Good in our archive of online events. As we acknowledge the value of community and the importance of reconciliation, our prayers are with the people of Ukraine.
